Treasury Information and Millage Rates

Dear Property Owner:

Howell Township summer property taxes are statutorily due by September 14, 2026, unless deferred. Payments will be accepted without interest through Monday, September 14, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. Postmarks are not accepted. Beginning September 15, 2026, a 1% interest charge will apply, with an additional 1% each month thereafter.

Township offices are open Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and are closed on Fridays and all federal holidays. Payments may be made by mail, in person at the Township Hall, or online through our website.

Failure to receive a tax bill does not waive applicable interest or penalties.  The Treasurer’s Office is not responsible for payments applied to an incorrect parcel. To ensure proper processing, please include your property identification number and telephone number with all payments.

Please be advised that tax payments made through online banking systems may take 15–20 business days to reach the Township, as they are processed by third-party vendors. If an escrow company has requested your tax bill, it will be indicated on the bill following the statement: “This escrow company requested your bill.” Note that your mortgage company may utilize a separate escrow service.
